The Student Ambassador Scheme recruits current students to support a wide range of events and activities organised by the Schools and Colleges Liaison Service (SCLS) including Open Days, HE Experience Days, University Visit Days, Subject Specific Taster Days, and visits to schools and colleges. Student Ambassadors act as role models and motivators to encourage school and college students to consider higher education. Ambassadors can share their own unique experiences including challenges and barriers they may have faced and overcome as well as successes and achievements.
The different roles
- Traditional Student Ambassador: this role supports a wide range of events and activities organised by the Schools and Colleges Liaison team (SCLS) including Open Days, HE Experience Days, University Visit Days, Subject Specific Taster Days, and visits to schools and colleges. Most jobs will take place during school hours on weekdays (9am-3pm).

Student Content Creator: Do you love social media? Can you help create content that will make people stop scrolling and pay attention?
We are looking for creatives to make authentic, scroll-stopping content about student life, for current and future students. From study to social life and everything in between, we want to share student experiences across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and other social media channels. - International Office Student Ambassador: This role is to support the International Office, there are a variety of roles available including creating content for social media, being involved with photoshoots and videos, peer to peer chat with prospective future international students, meeting partners from around the world on campus or online, working online events such as the International Information Days and/or pre-departure webinars, and much more!
You can apply to one, two, or all of the above roles, and they are open to undergraduate, postgraduate and international students.

Experience as an ambassador is an excellent way of enhancing your CV. All graduate employers look for evidence of extra-curricular activities and experience. You will also be paid £13.45 per hour (plus an additional £2.10 per hour holiday pay).

Roles available working for the University

Traditional Student Ambassador
Applications are now open and will close at midnight on Friday 2 October.
If your application is successful, you will need to attend a selection day on Monday 12 October, followed by a training day on either Monday 19 October or Friday 23 October.

Student Content Creator
Applications are now open! Please submit your application before midnight on Sunday 11 October.
Successful applicants will need to attend our Student Content Creator induction on Wednesday 21 October.

International Office Student Ambassador
Applications are now open, and will close at midnight on Wednesday 7 October.
If your application is successful, you will need to attend a training day on Wednesday 14 October.
