As part of the Student visa application process, the Home Office may invite applicants to attend a credibility interview. These interviews are more commonly conducted for applicants applying from outside the UK, although applicants applying within the UK may also be invited.

The purpose of the interview is to assess whether you are a genuine student and that you meet the requirements of the Student route.

Most interviews are conducted remotely by video call and are recorded. A Home Office caseworker will consider the interview, along with the rest of your application, when making a decision on your Student visa.

If you are invited to attend an interview, it is important that you do so. Failure to attend without a valid reason may result in your visa application being refused.

If you have previously studied at the same academic level as your new course, you should be prepared to explain why you wish to study at the same level again and how your new course will enhance your knowledge, skills, or career prospects.
