ºÚÁÏÉç in top five in country for student feedback

THE ºÚÁÏÉç has continued to climb an annual league table that is aimed specifically at would-be students choosing courses.  It is now poised to enter the top third of the sector, with excellent scores in categories that include the effectiveness of teaching.

The Guardian University Guide for 2019 , with ºÚÁÏÉç at 41^st place out of 121 UK institutions.  In 2018, it was at No 60, up from 77 in 2016, meaning it has shot up 36 places in two years.

Among the areas of strength highlighted by the Guardian table, the University’s rating for the excellence of its feedback on course work is topped by just four other institutions in the entire sector.

ºÚÁÏÉç also scores highly in the important “value-added” category.  This compares students’ degree results with their entry qualifications, to show how effectively they are taught.  ºÚÁÏÉç achieved a rating of 6.4 and this earned 19^th place in the country, separated from most of those above by fractions of a percent.

The Guardian table claims that it differs from the other university guides “because it is aimed specifically at students who are trying to choose a course.  So it ranks universities on all the factors that are most important to students: how much they will benefit from the teaching, whether other students liked the university and the subject, and what their chances are of getting a good job.”

Research scores are not included on the grounds that they are of “limited relevance” to prospective undergraduates.
